You can’t comment on social media when you don’t even blog yourself any more!?!?!?

This looks to be an excellent conference and certainly very timely. Social media continues to shape how PR professionals deliver value.

One issue I’ve been focused on is the importance of injecting “entertainment” into the content produced for PR purposes. Here’s a blog post I wrote on that topic:

It seems as though someone has hit an untapped resource…senior executives outside of the social networking loop. A crucial component to PR is the involvement in the ever changing technological systems. If our senior members aren’t up to speed on what is happening in the field, then how are they supposed to value it? I think this conference is an excellent idea! Not only will it inform all PR professionals of the advantages of social networks, but to get us talking about how to best approach the environment. I am often torn as to how some social networks like Facebook are a viable option for PRs. I think that being abreast of the different forms of technology can be crucial when assisting clients, but we don’t want to come across as ‘spin doctors’ or ‘publicity bullies’.
