I’m not so keen on the whole tagging and mee-ing etc but here are my fave five social media tools - Facebook; Firefox (although I’m liking Safari on Windows); LinkedIn; Windows Live Writer and my iPod.

I’m with Ed on the blog tag thing - I tend to find ‘em a little insular.

My five:

1. Twitter - love this thing at the moment, it’s my global insta-poll and entertainment service.

2. Wordpress - great blogging platform.

3. RSS Readers - I tend to use bloglines more but I’m shifting to Google reader. Saves me heaps of time.

4. Gmail/Google Talk - many of my colleagues are in G chat all the time, bloody handy.

And let me share two vastly overrated tools:

1. Technorati - man it struggles. Hasn’t ranked my blog for months for no reason, and you have to fight through Spam to search with it.

2. Facebook - this is a personal space for me. I find the current Facebook love-in utterly tedious.

At Bloglines, we’re busy working on improving our product. Our goal is to displace “wordpress” as #1.

We’ll keep you posted on upcoming Bloglines releases.

Thanks, Eric. My top five were placed in no particular order btw. I need each one as much as the other! :)

I’m using an Add-On for Firefox (called OPML Support) that lets me manage my feed subscriptions without having to use an external reader.

I can import and export my feeds as an OPML file, which I can then use with any other open feed reader platform. Or just sync with my work and home copies of Firefox.

Oh and BTW, while Chris Moyles is a local lad (from Leeds for all his sins), but I honestly think he’s an idiot who should go back to hospital radio…
