Video Podcasting

Posted Thursday, October 13, 2005 at 2:02pm in Blogging | 2 Comments

Looking at the Uk Apple website I noticed that they’ve named vlogs, “video podcasting”. Is this going to be the new term given?

iPod video is out. Who wants to buy my iPod photo?

Posted Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 9:38pm in Blogging, Technology | Leave a Comment

Yes it’s true, and yes I want one. But how can I justify selling my iPod photo? I only bought it in August. Guess I’ll have to put it down to educational purposes.

The great thing about the Video iPod is the TV out ability. Take your movies, music videos or TV shows anywhere and plug it straight into a TV. Voila , your collection in your pocket!

Piaras is right. Video blogging (vlogging, vidlogging..whatever?) will take more prominence now. I expect to see a lot more vloggers.

On a side note, Apple have proved once again that they are the number one buzz creators. The anticipation, speculation across every nation (Hey that rhymes!) that they’ve created is phenomenal! Everyone has had a “they will” “they won’t” opinion.

Only yesterday Adam Curry was strongly disagreeing with an introduction of the iPod Video. Oh how wrong he was.

UPDATE

Wow that was quick! I’m watching a BBC News TV report on the new iPod video minutes after writing this. The picture quality looks..erm..quality!

Burger King the rebel of fast foods

Posted at 12:51pm in Blogging | 1 Comment

This is a story we discussed in one of my lectures at university. Burger king, the second largest UK fast food chain has decided not to participate in an initiative to make foods more healthier An initiative formed by the food industry and the Food Standards Industry (FSA).

Instead they’ve decided to make their foods as tasty as they can, regardless of how much fat, salt or any other heart clogging products they put in their foods. They’re also considering introducing the ‘Enormous Omelette Sandwich’ - rammed packed with fat.

From a PR point of view, I can see this being beneficial to Burger King. There are a lot of people out there who aren’t bothered about how much fat/salt they consume. They are purely in it for the taste and enjoyment. Targeting this market (which will be quite a considerable size) could certainly be beneficial for the company.

Plus, disassociation with the initiative could make Burger King seen as the uber-cool rebel of fast food. Already, other fast food companies are considering a pull out in case Burger King are thought of as a more tastier ‘joint’.

Tech Camp Ireland

Posted at 12:08pm in Blogging, Technology | Leave a Comment

Good luck to Tech Camp Ireland which takes place Saturday 15th October in Dublin. If you’re around the Dublin area on Saturday, be sure to stop by–or even if you aren’t, try and make the trip. I would have loved to, but girlfriend’s birthday takes prominence!

There’s a whole host of informative new media and Web2.0 presentations taking place and a tremendous turn out. Congrats to Ed Byrne and my cyber PR buddy, Piaras Kelly for organising what is going to be the first of many great events. The sign up wiki is here.

And what better way to end the day than with beers! Have you ever tried drinking Guinness with the Irish? Bring your Aspirins!

Just testing Chris Pirillo’s new search site - gada.be. You can search a query on a number of search engines and websites very easily. Plus it’s a ideal for mobile PC and Smartphone users as the interface is very basic, thus, no clogging up your device’s screen.
