Auburn students have a blog start
Posted at 1:56am in Blogging, PR General | 2 Comments
From a link I got off some guy with Wet Feet. The Auburn University in the US has its PR students already blogging. Students are given their own WordPress account and they are required to blog twice weekly about PR related issues.
This is great for three reasons:
1. They’ll develop their writing skills.
2. They’ll learn about different aspects of blogging and its impact as a new communication channel.
3. PROs are asked to comment on their blogs, which in turn will give them real experience of speaking to professional communicators.
One such person who has been commenting a lot on each of the student’s blogs is Jeremy Pepper from the excellent Pop! PR blog. PR as an educational subject gets a lot of flack regarding if it can be taught or not. It’s good to see someone supporting and encouraging PR students instead of criticising or disregarding.

Adam Curry is the interviewee on this week’s BBC Click Online. It doesn’t say much about podcasting bloggers don’t already know but shows how it’s slipping into the mainstream so worth a watch all the same.

Technorati BETA released

Technorati’s BETA site is live. Haven’t had a chance to play about with it as I’m at work, but I hope it’s better than the usual Technorati site. I had some problems with Technorati when trying to claim my web log. After bouncing emails back and forth with their staff I still had no luck. Then it got to the point where they just stopped responding! And I still can’t make my claim.
